On 25 September 2018, the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Melbourne held a reception to celebrate the 69th anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China. Consul General Zhao Jian welcomed almost 500 overseas Chinese from Victoria and Tasmania to celebrate the double festivities of Mooncake Festival and National Day of PRC, held at the famous Park Hyatt Hotel in Melbourne (National Day, Mid-Autumn Festival).
