The Tasmanian Chinese Buddhist Academy of Australia 澳大利亞塔州中國佛教學院 (TCBAA) was kindly invited by Chinese Community Association of Tasmania (CCAT) to participate in the Lunar New Year Festival held on Sunday 7 February at Parliament Lawn. We performed the lion dance as part of the opening ceremony, and also the Young Living Buddha's Dynamic Dhyana Dharani, followed by the Chinese Vajra Fan Dance and Rainbow Fan Dance.
Master Wang Xin De was invited as one of the VIPs on stage, where he gave a blessing, made a short speech, and presented the Chairman of the festival Mr. James Lee with a donation.
TCBAA also had a stall, sharing the art of Eastern culture - origami and also giving children (and adults!) a chance to try on the lion heads.
The entire day was a great success, with the heavens bestowing us lovely sunshine, and with well over 5,500 people attending.
